THE
COURSE

THE SWIM:
This age appropriate swim
will take place in the South
County YMCA Pool. Each
swimmer will complete the
assigned number of laps, in
their lane, with assistance
if necessary, from volunteer
swimmers and/or flotation
devices. There will be lap
counters at every lane
helping the participants.
One lane of the pool is 25
meters.
After the swim
completion, your child will
walk from the pool area to
the
Transition area, to begin the
bike portion of the race.

THE BIKE:
The bike will be on a closed
bike course around the South
Kingstown Senior Center and
Broad Rock Athletic Fields.
From transition area,
athletes will walk their
bikes to the entrance of the
bike course at the South
Kingstown Senior Center.
At the beginning of the
course, they will mount
their bikes and then proceed
down the hill. They
will then make a right turn
onto the Broad Rock Athletic
Fields Parking Lot entrance
road. They will follow
the road to the rear parking
lot, continue biking to the
end of the lot, making a
counter clockwise loop around the rear lot,
and back out the entrance
road, of the Broad Rock
Athletic Fields. At
the end of the entrance
road, they will make a left
uphill onto St. Dominic
Road, then left again into
the upper portion of the
South Kingstown Senior
Center parking lot.
Then, if necessary,
continuing on to complete
the loop again. Volunteers
will be on the course,
counting laps and notifying
participants when they have
completed the bike portion
of the race. After
completion, athletes must
dismount and walk their
bikes back into the transition
area.
This loop is
approximately .5 miles.

THE RUN:
After re-racking their bikes
back into transition,
athletes will then proceed
right out of transition and
around the back portion of
the YMCA. Here they will
follow the path to the main
field, of the YMCA, where a
loop track will be set-up.
Counters will be on hand to
determine when athletes have
finished their prescribed
number of laps, at which
point they will be sent down
the finish chute for the end
of the race. The run will
have two aid stations, with
water, for the participants.
This loop is approximately
.6 miles.
